Are enterprises required to register for an electronic identification (eID) account?
Is there any fee involved?
Is eID Registration Mandatory Before July 1, 2025?
According to Clause 4, Article 40 of Decree No. 69/2024/NĐ-CP, the effective date for eID implementation is specified as follows:
- This Decree takes effect from July 1, 2024.
- Decree No. 59/2022/NĐ-CP on electronic identification and authentication will cease to be effective on the same date.
- eID accounts issued to individuals via the National Public Service Portal and ministerial/provincial-level administrative systems can only be used until June 30, 2024.
- eID accounts issued to agencies and organizations through these same platforms are valid only until June 30, 2025.
- eID accounts and authentication service certificates issued under Decree 59/2022/NĐ-CP remain valid until their stated expiry dates.
- Citizens who already have a level-2 eID account before this Decree comes into effect will be provided with an electronic ID card through the National eID Application (VNeID) starting July 1, 2024.
As such, enterprise eID accounts created through the National Public Service Portal or other related systems will expire after June 30, 2025.
From July 1, 2025, businesses must use eID accounts via the VNeID app to access national and local public service portals for administrative procedures. Existing accounts will no longer be valid.
Therefore, enterprises must complete eID registration before July 1, 2025, to avoid legal and administrative risks when handling official procedures.
