    Changes in compulsory insurance

    1. Regulation about UI in the Law on Employment:

    The Employment Law No. 38/2013/QH13 officially takes effect on 01 January 2015.
    Previously, Enterprise which has less than 10 employees does not pay UI for them. But according to the Law on Employment, Enterprise employs laborers, even signing seasonal labor contract, defined or undefined labor contract, also have to pay UI by 1% of monthly salary fund of employees who are joining UI.

    2. Some changes of SI, HI and UI policy:

    On 17 December 2014, the Social Insurance Department of Ho Chi Minh City has issued OL No. 4064/SI-THU guiding insurance levels from 01 January 2015 as follows:
    The maximum salary to calculate UI is 20 months of regional minimum wage (from 01 January 2015, the minimum wage of region 1 is 3,100,000 VND/month. Therefore, the ceiling level as basis for paying UI is 3,100,000 x 20 = 62,000,000 VND); For SI, HI: the maximum salary to calculate insurance is still 20 months of basis salary (The current rate is 23,000,000 VND)
